Capstone Center Initiative:   At the invitation of the RFA, our officers met with the leadership of three other organizations that serve Rutgers retirees to discuss planning for a Capstone Center -- a facility with office and meeting spaces for  use by the RFA, the Rutgers University Academy for Lifelong Learning (RU-ALL), the Silver Knights Staff Retiree Association and the AAUP Emeriti Assembly.  The groups agreed to prepare individual annual reports similar to this one, gather them together in one package, and distribute it to members of the central administration to inform them of the collected impact generated by programs, events and services offered by the four organizations. The next step will be to set objectives and describe space needs for the Capstone Center.

Survey of N.J. Retiree Groups:  The RFA contacted all four-year educational institutions in the state and determined that Rutgers, with three retiree organizations, has more retiree members than all other colleges and universities in the state combined.  The data from the study were gatherd on behalf of the international Association of Retirement Organizations in Higher Education (AROHE), of which Rutgers is a founding member.

Computer Workshops:  The RFA partnered with The Friends of the Rutgers University Libraries to arrange two computer workshops to increase the skills of our members.

Website Additions:  We continued to add content to our website, especially in the areas of healthcare information, long-term care insurance and oral histories.

Newsletter:  Six issues of the RFA BULLETIN were published during the year, two each in the fall, winter and spring.

Membership:  Despite some attrition, membership increased about 10 percent to 220.
